During Extreme Beerfest we have planned four 30 minute beer seminars.

Tentative Schedule:

3:30 – All About Hops with Steve Bauman of Bauman’s Hop Farm (Ft. Calhoun, NE) and Ryhnalds Hops Growers (Prague, NE)

Steve and company will enlighten you on how he became a hop farmer in Nebraska, what varieties he grows and how hops are grown. Samples of Upstream Brewing Co. Bauman’s Hop Farm Rye IPA will be served. This beer is brewed once a year using only hops from Steve’s farm.

4:00 – Barrel Aging with Mike Hall of Upstream Brewery and Cask Conditioned Beers with Andrew Hood of Tallgrass Brewing

Join the head brewmasters of Upstream Brewing Co. and Tallgrass Brewing Co., as they delivery a keynote presentation about these brewing trends. Mike covers the world of barrel aging beers while Andrew talks about cask conditioned ales.

4:30 – From Beer Geek to Brewer with Jeremy Danner of Boulevard

Hear the story of retail cashier who loved craft beer evolved into a brewer for Boulevard Brewing Co., the 10th largest craft brewery in the country. Jeremy Danner will share his story which includes stints as a bartender and brewer’s assistant as well as how he went from a beer snob to a self-proclaimed beer geek. He will also touch on the always expanding line of Boulevard beers and insights on the craft brewing industry.

5:00 – All You Need Is Love with New Belgium’s Jamie Mastin

Jamie has been with the Brewery for 15 years, and will talk about making Sour Beers. He is bringing with him a sour called Love. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to sample it straight out of the oak firkin.
